As the days grow longer and activity increases, the bowl can provide a little extra energy too. This spring bowl combines quinoa, sweet potato and lentils with fresh spinach – simple, nourishing and perfect for everyday meals.
It’s a fresh addition to your dog’s diet and can be made with ingredients that are easy to find.

Ingredients (approx. 4 servings for a 25-30 kg dog)
- 150 g quinoa (preferably white quinoa)
- about 400 g sweet potatoes, diced
- about 300 g butternut squash, diced
- 60 g red lentils
- 100 g plain tofu
- 1 handful fresh spinach
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp ground pumpkin seed
- 800 ml water
Instructions
- Rinse the quinoa very thoroughly under hot running water to remove the natural bitterness.
- Briefly rinse the lentils.
- Add the quinoa, lentils, sweet potatoes and butternut squash to a large pot (about 3 litres).
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and let everything simmer gently for 20–25 minutes.
- Meanwhile rinse the spinach and roughly chop it.
- During the last 5 minutes of cooking, stir in the spinach and crumble in the tofu. Mix well with a spoon. Add a little more water if needed.
- Once everything is soft and well combined, remove the pot from the heat.
- Stir in the coconut oil and the ground pumpkin seeds.
- Allow the bowl to cool before serving.
Tips
Serve with soaked vegan dry food and a few drops of vegan omega-3 oil.
Notes
This bowl is suitable as a fresh supplement or in combination with a balanced complete feed. For a lasting and complete supply of nutrients, micronutrients should be supplemented in a targeted manner and checked regularly.
